In Memory – Richard “Rich Gould

February 24, 1957 – September 11, 2023

The Rocky Mountain Tigers and entire Mizzou family mourn the loss of our dear and loyal Tiger, Richard “Rich” Gould, who passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023 at 11:41 AM.

Rich was instrumental in reigniting the Rocky Mountain Tigers alumni chapter in 1997. He was a founder of the chapter’s scholarship endowment; Rich was passionate about supporting the best Colorado students at his beloved Mizzou.

He graduated in 1984 with a BES and served on the Mizzou Alumni Association’s National Governing board from 2004-2008.

Rich’s last few days were filled with watching a Tiger victory, lots of college football and an almost-win by the Broncos.

He is survived by his sisters Lish (Teresa) of Arlington, Texas, and Janet Gould of Woodland Park, Colo., as well as many, many friends who believe their lives are richer for knowing Rich.

Rich was 66. He passed from cascading failures of his kidneys, heart and lungs. Rich transcended with ease surrounded by his family and a few close friends. Special music was played, including The Mizzou Fight Song. Many thanks to his care team at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood: Terry, Laurel, Matt and Jillian.

Rich’s celebration of life will be Saturday, September 16 at 2:00 PM at Starbucks: 12408 W. Alameda Pkwy. Lakewood CO.

Rich wanted everyone to wear Hawaiian shirts and play Jimmy Buffet music! (Mizzou-themed attire would also be appropriate.

MIZ, Rich! Your legacy will live on!
